What we plan
Spiritual and pilgrimage journeys
Sacred journeys planned with the care they deserve.
A pilgrimage is not a sightseeing trip with temples in it. The timing of a darshan, how far you have to walk, where you rest, and how much quiet you get between places all matter more than how many sites you cover. We plan these journeys with that in mind, and with particular attention to travellers who are older or less mobile.
Where we plan pilgrimages
The Char Dham in Uttarakhand — Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri — along with Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura and Vrindavan, Tirupati, Shirdi, Amritsar, Ajmer and Bodh Gaya. We also plan the Jyotirlinga and Shakti Peeth circuits.
Planned around darshan, not around us
Temple timings, aarti schedules and seasonal opening dates drive the itinerary rather than the other way round. Where a site has a preferred time of day — dawn on the Ganges, evening aarti at Dashashwamedh — the day is arranged so you are there for it.
For senior pilgrims and families
Accessibility is usually the deciding factor. Kedarnath can be reached on foot, by pony or doli, or by helicopter depending on fitness and weather, and we arrange whichever suits. Elsewhere we choose stays close to the temple, keep walking distances short and build in genuine rest.
Weather, safety and honest advice
Himalayan pilgrimage routes are seasonal and weather-dependent. Monsoon months, roughly July and August, bring landslides and road closures in the Char Dham region. We monitor conditions, reroute or reschedule when safety is at risk, and will tell you plainly if your preferred dates are a poor idea.
How we plan it
- You tell us the idea. One WhatsApp message with a rough sense of when, who and how long is enough to start.
- We draft the plan. Built around your budget and pace, with a reason behind every choice.
- We refine it together. Revise until it reads like your trip, then we book everything.
- You travel, we stay reachable. One message away for changes or recommendations.
Why plan this with Pushkar Tours
- Personal, always. You talk to the people who actually plan your trip, not a call centre or a booking system.
- End to end. Stays, transport, experiences and the small details in between are arranged together, so nothing falls between two suppliers.
- India and the world. Domestic depth across the country, with international reach when you want to go further.
- On call while you travel. One WhatsApp message away, wherever you are, for the whole trip.
Before you book
Quotations are prepared individually and stay subject to availability until the booking is confirmed in writing. Cancellation and refund terms vary by tour type, season and how much notice is given — whatever applies to your trip is communicated clearly before you confirm, never afterwards. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance for every journey, and consider it essential for international and high-altitude travel; we are happy to point you to suitable options. For international trips we also provide visa guidance and documentation checklists, though the grant of a visa always rests with the relevant authorities. Full terms are set out in our Terms & Conditions.

Frequently asked questions
The temples open around late April or May and close around Diwali, with exact dates announced each year. May to June and September to October are usually the most settled windows.
Often yes, with the right arrangements — helicopter segments, pony or doli where needed, comfortable stays and a slower schedule. We plan around the specific person rather than a general age rule.
Tell us the pilgrimage you have in mind and we will let you know what is possible for your dates, including any registration or medical requirements that apply.
